Judee
Plourde
Kiss like a dream Pop |
I wonder if this chick would put on a gimp mask and ride my face into submission? I've got to say that Judee Plourde's lyrics excite me. She takes chances with sex and sensuality. And she has a great way of changing her lyrical style from straight on to nice and throaty. A tarty lemon twist on the blah pop genre. |

Poptart
Monkeys
Dancing with my Lunatic Rock/Alternative |
Recently voted band of the month by Rolling Stone, the poptart monkeys fit in nicely with Rock, Alt and Pop audiences. Dancing with my lunatic is full of songs that will stick like gum in your memory like my favorite la de da. The odd thing is that they recorded in Scranton, PA and their music didn't turn into a pile of shit. WTG! |

Cleopatra
Close to You Singles Dance/Club |
Her mission is to spread Love through the sounds of music. The Queen of the Nile seems to be off to a good start but I have some problems with the high tinny vocals. That's not to say that I don't get to tappin. Given a little time and some experience, I can see Cleo on the charts. |

East Coast Happy presents Oron in a flippin mix of good, danceable grooves. Very nice table work and remixing. Oron will benefit any club and put life into your car system. |

Blackbird
Abbey
Blackbird Abbey Rock |
Straight forward no frills rock. The good thing about this is that what you hear is what you get. I'm sure that if you saw B A perform you'd get a similar rendition of what you hear on this CD. Lyrically sound and musically tight. |

Matt Moran's Contra
Band
Operation Groove Pop/Experimental |
Scratch your head with me and try to categorize this demo CD. It's a bastard stepchild of oldies, beach rock, Congo and jazz fusion thrown in for good measure. And I'm not even sure if I'm right about any of that. But God Damn! You've got to give Matt Moran an E for effort and originality. Worth my listen. |

Kamal
Kamal Rap |
You know I get scared when I get a new Rap CD. So often it's just a piece of shit. Not the case with Kamal. Pimp, Playa, Hustler. Yep, the mother fucker is all that. And he says what thousand of other rappers say. But Kamal knows how to sell it. He's smooth. He's got a good delivery and he can mix the sound up. Like the left hook he sneaks in with Wait and See! |

Gayle
Calling Back the Sun Folk/Acoustic |
I won't say that Gayle doesn't have talent. But it's mis-directed. I mean I can see her singing this stuff around campfires but she needs to learn more than 2 chords. She needs to work on her vocals and she NEEDS to understand how to write lyrics. |

Tunsi
The Omen Rap |
Another surprise comes with Tunsi and the omen. How many indie rappers have music sense? Not many. And the ability to mix thug life with intelligence, comedy and a story line is almost fuckin dead. Brilliant use of sound bytes adds to the omens power. Someone would seriously be well served to sign this man. Tunsi is tearin it up and not lookin back. |

Rare
Blend
Infinity Jazz/Jazz Fusion/New Age/Other |
Synergy. When I saw that word in the CD book I knew it was the right term to describe these fine musicians. The freeflow of ideas spreads neatly throughout this instrumental gem. If you're a fan of music, Jazz or otherwise, don't just check out Rare Blend, buy a CD or two. You won't regret it. |
